VideoCentric Offers Free Touch Control Software with Every Polycom, Tandberg and Lifesize Group Video Conferencing System
Two years on from its initial launch, VC Commander software is to be given away free to end users purchasing videoconferencing codec hardware from VideoCentric
Wokingham, United Kingdom, October 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- VC Commander is an application which runs on any MS Windows Platform and has been designed by VideoCentric to work with each of the world’s major videoconference and Telepresence systems.
Everything an ordinary user is likely to need to do is presented on one screen and therefore it enables one-touch control of all user functions, including the selection of screen layouts, phonebook, camera control, volume and PC presentations. The basic package is free of charge when purchasing a codec and may also be used freely with other systems already installed on the same site.
David Shimell, sales director for VideoCentric UK said, “Consistency of look and feel is maintained across all manufacturers regardless of whether they are standard or high definition systems. Although VC Commander can be used with a mouse or tablet-based PC, it is primarily aimed at those with touch-screen laptops or PCs with any USB touch sensitive LCD panel or any SMARTBoard.”
VC Commander can be adapted for particular vertical markets such as telemedicine, patient care, education and training, or it will be customised by VideoCentric, at a nominal charge, to suit a corporate brand or specific set of input/output devices. Shimell added, “More complex integrations will still benefit from sophisticated control systems such as AMX and Crestron which we also sell, but VC Commander is designed to be simple, controlling just the VC system and its specific ports rather than to control accessories such as lights, blinds, electric screens etc.”
Free VC Commander Software will be shipping to end users from 1st October 2010 and arrangements are in place for selected vertical integrators to onwards develop the software for specific applications.
