McCann Detroit Strengthens Presence in Medical Category
Bloomfield Hills, MI, January 11, 2007 --(PR.com)-- McCann Erickson Detroit has been awarded the strategic, creative and media responsibilities for promoting the new Michigan Life Science Pipeline. The Pipeline is a mechanism designed to make it easier for companies both outside the state and within the state to grow their life science business in Michigan, quickly and profitably. This latest account win is further evidence of McCann Detroit's increasing expertise in the life sciences area, fueled by last year's Detroit Medical Center account win.
Funded as part of the 21st Century Jobs Fund initiative signed into law last November, the Michigan Life Science Pipeline will help companies leverage the technology, intellectual property and manufacturing capability in the state, and facilitate access to funding. CJPS Enterprises of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (www.cjps-enterprises.com), directs Pipeline communications and assists companies that want to form profitable alliances.
“We are excited to help companies grow their medical device and life science business in the state of Michigan. The State of Michigan has great resources and a $2 billion jobs fund that can be unleashed to propel us into the 21st century,” said Christophe Sevrain, CEO of CJPS Enterprises.
McCann's DMC campaign has provided momentum in this area. The new “Rebel” campaign put DMC on the front burner of public opinion as the one group of Detroit area hospitals that is on the patient's side (instead of the medical establishment). The campaign features the theme, “A better way to get better.”
Garry Neel, McCann Worldgroup Detroit CEO states, “McCann is finding that our skills in technical communications combined with our creativity and Worldgroup resource pool can provide our life sciences clients with the necessary tools to make an immediate and profound impact in the market place. We are pleased that this specialty is being recognized and rewarded.”
McCann Detroit's expertise in the medical category was recently acknowledged at the 2006 MarCom Creative Awards, an international marketing and communications competition. McCann Erickson garnered one Platinum and two Gold awards. In addition to bringing home the Gold for the Delphi OEM print campaign, McCann won two awards for Delphi Medical Systems work. This print marked Delphi's move into the medical devices space with a clean, stylish effort built around Delphi's core connectivity product.
