Artist to the Stars, Corey Frizzell Joins Carla Ciuffo & Lindsay Truman for Music Row Corroboree Gallery’s "Untold Stories" Art Exhibit

Nashville, TN, October 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Music Row based Corroboree Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of "Untold Stories," an exhibition presenting select works from Artist to the Stars, Corey Frizzell, Corroboree Gallery owner, Carla Ciuffo, and Photographer, Lindsay Truman, as well as a viewing of authentic tribal Aboriginal artworks. The evening's festivities will also include a culinary sampling of Australian fare and Corroboree's magical floating massage.

The Frizzell family, most famous for its prominence on the Country Music Charts, is now witnessing the artistic successes of the second generation. Although he has siblings following in the Frizzell music footsteps, who have accepted the challenge of emerging from the giant shadow first cast by the family music patriarch, Lefty Frizzell, Corey chose a different path, a path to create his own shadow.

Corey falls somewhere in the middle of the six children spanning four decades of Allen Frizzell, former Nashville recording artist and younger brother of the Legendary Lefty Frizzell and Country Star, David Frizzell. Corey has been a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, acted in music videos and cast for two roles in the original Stephen King movie, Children of The Corn. If that's not interesting enough, he's now, a visual artist in high demand, creating custom portraits, stunning graphics and web design. With royal country music blood running through his veins, Frizzell has come full circle and been named the Artist to the Stars for his artistic collaboration with some of Country Music, Bluegrass and Country Gospel Music's biggest names.

Although Frizzell is best known for creating portraits for many of today's Country Music Stars, he will be exhibiting pieces closer to his heart. Inspired by the fighting spirit, Frizzell will exhibit portraits of his two year old daughter, Lyric Alana Frizzell, who recently endured a six month chemo treatment and is in a partial remission from a rare, aggressive form of Leukemia, Samantha Abbott, who was also being treated at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital for Leukemia but sadly lost her battle on March 28th, 2010 and Sergeant Ryan Patrick Baumann of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky who was killed in action on August 1, 2008 while serving our country in Afghanistan.

Blending images with paint and textures, Carla Ciuffo uses light and shadow to draw out the other universe, the untold story, the one that is always there. This series combines raw emotion of "The Boxer" series - portraits of body and soul, and the beauty that stirs in Tennessee. The selection is Ciuffo's most recent work, all images taken in Tennessee and inspired by PUSH boxing, Cheekwood Botanical Garden, the wild life of Grassmere Zoo, Centennial Park, Public Square, Nashville and its surrounding areas.

Everyone has a story to tell but they tell it in different ways. Lindsay Truman chooses to tell his stories through his photography. His work is an art form that can be as rich and vibrant as an oil painting and descriptive as a book. Visual emotion is not easy to convey but by using all the elements of lighting, composition and layered color these emotions are brought to life within the frame for all to experience in their own way.

October 14, 2010, 5pm to 8pm at Corroboree Gallery - 1014 17th Avenue South - Nashville, TN 37212 - 615.750.3701.
