Merger Creates First Ever Nation-Wide Electronics Recycler
Envirocycle Inc. and Nxtcycle Inc, two of the nations leading electronics recyclers, annouced they are merging operations to form a new company, Amandi Services.
Hallstead, PA, August 26, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Two of the nations leading electronic recyclers today announced they are merging operations to form Amandi Services (Asset Management and Disposition Services), creating the first national e-waste recycling infrastructure. Envirocycle, Inc., and Nxtcycle, Inc., reached agreement this week on the details of the merger.
By combining the two corporations, Amandi Services will employ approximately 300 people with over 500,000 square feet of production and warehouse space in 12 operations in North America. Estimated revenues for the new company will be in excess of $20,000,000 per year. The companies will begin joint operations August 31, 2005.
Both Envirocycle and Nxtcycle have extensive histories in the electronics-recycling field. Envirocycle has long been known as the preeminent Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) glass recycler in the country and Nxtcycle brings a solid core of both recycling services and off-spec product management.
“Individually, each organization had its own strengths,” John Matthews, CEO of Amandi Services said, “but the synergy of the merged organization is going to allow us to be the one-stop solution for all aspects of the management of surplus and waste electronics.”
Michael Heth, Senior Vice President –West Coast Operations, added, “The nationwide infrastructure and capabilities of Amandi positions us well to deal with what is one of the fastest growing waste segments in the US.”
One of the major obstacles to any generator of electronics waste is the transportation cost associated with getting the product to a recycler. Amandi will have a site within 240 miles of 50% of the US population. The company’s planned expansion will increase that reach to 95% of the population within 18 months.
“Our ability to collect and process product in the most cost-effective manner,” David Cauchi, Senior Vice-President of Business Development explained, “whether the customer generates a single package or a truckload of material, is going to make us extremely competitive.”
