MLC PR Signs Recording Artist Willie Herath
Entertainment PR firm, M. Loring Communications partners with indie rock artist Willie Herath for a 2007 indie album campaign.
Los Angeles, CA, January 11, 2007 --(PR.com)-- From hometown musician to commercial actor and back to music as a new recording artist, Willie Herath has successfully showcased his talent in both avenues of entertainment. In order to spread awareness for his new 2006 beach rock album titled Coghie Never Landed, Herath has partnered with entertainment PR firm M. Loring Communications. Although Herath has been a player in the LA music scene, he is ready to take his music career to the next level.
Born and raised in Illinois, Herath started her entertainment career locally, performing at coffee shops and talent shows. He soon realized that the extent of his dreams were limited in Illinois so he took a road trip to Los Angeles. The road trip turned into a permanent move. As of September 2006, Herath will have been in Los Angeles for seven years. Although he has had his shares of difficulties, between his good looks, charisma and extraordinary talent, he succeeding in acting in over thirty television commercials for companies such as: Apple Computers, 7-UP, Verizon, Chase bank and Mitsubishi Motors to name a few.
However, Herath did not forget his love for music. In the summer of 2006, Herath released his first full studio album titled, Cohgie Never Landed. His music is an upbeat mix of guitar rock and pop that some say is a perfect blend of alternative rock band Weezer and folk singer Jack Johnson. “Nod your head beach rock is what I call it,” says Herath. Cohgie Never Landed is definitely on its way to indie success.
Currently, the number one song on the album titled “Sticky Flip-Flop” is climbing the charts. “Sticky Flip-Flop” is number 8 in the TOP 100 and the full album has had over 160,000 plays on a popular music website. The summer of 2006 was the beginning of a nationwide radio promotion that has been successful in getting regular rotation of his songs “Sticky Flip-Flop,” “Come Home,” and “Dig It On” in selected radio markets. MySpace.com has also been advantageous for Herath’s exposure. In fact, the steady buzz led to MTV’s hit show Made featuring his track “So Perfect.”
Mona Loring, president of M. Loring Communications shares, “MLC PR is always open to undiscovered talent. The best part of artist promotion is experiencing our new clients grow within their industry. Willie Herath is definitely going to be a star in his own right.”
