Trick or Treat! and Smile - Valley Pediatric Dentistry to Promote Dental Health and Treat Our Troops
For the third year, Dr. Benjamin Dancygier of Valley Pediatric Dentistry in Jefferson Valley, NY, is participating in a nationwide campaign to promote dental health while giving something back to help the troops. He will buy back the Halloween candy that area trick-or-treaters collect and donate it to ‘Operation Support Our Troops’ for distribution to service men and women deployed overseas.

For the third year, Dr. Benjamin Dancygier of Valley Pediatric Dentistry is once again participating in a nationwide campaign to promote dental health while giving something back to help the troops. He will buy back the Halloween candy that area trick-or-treaters collect and donate it to ‘Operation Support Our Troops’ for distribution to service men and women deployed overseas.
Children can bring their bags of Halloween goodies to the Valley Pediatric Dentistry office at 3630 Hill Boulevard, Suite 401 in Jefferson Valley on Monday November 1 – Friday November 5 from 9 am – 5 pm. Dr. Dancygier and his staff will weigh and pay each child $1 for each pound of candy that is collected.
"We love to see children smile and knowing that all of this candy will also bring a smile to our troops, makes this candy drive all the more worthwhile,” said Dr. Dancygier. “And of course, it helps keep the children’s teeth clean and healthy.”
The annual candy buy-back is part of Valley Pediatric Dentistry's commitment to promote dental health by encouraging good nutrition habits that last a lifetime. In 2009, the office collected over 900 pounds of candy, up from the 150 pounds that was donated in 2008. This year, they are anticipating even much more, because due to their past success many children are now supporting the candy drive by asking their teachers and classmates to participate with them.
‘Operation Support Our Troops’ is a national non-profit organization with a regional location based in West Point., that sends gift packages to the troops and uses Halloween candy to include in the holiday gift boxes they send out in December.
