Board Chair David Meyer to Receive Grauer School NCPC Award
Encinitas, CA, October 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Grauer School’s Board Chairman David Meyer has been selected by the Grauer Advancement and Development Committee as the recipient of the 2010 Volunteer of the Year Award from the North County Philanthropy Council (NCPC), to be presented at the 23rd Annual Volunteer Awards Luncheon on November 12, 2010, at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. The award is bestowed upon individuals who devote their time, talent and resources to help others in North County.
Meyer commented, “I am truly honored and humbled by the nomination for this award, and I will gladly represent The Grauer School. My service to Grauer is an 18-year labor of love and I need no honors to perform my work here. The fruits of all we have been able to accomplish over my time volunteering at Grauer is all the recognition I really need. Volunteerism is at the very heart of Grauer and I wear this badge proudly. It is simply the way I believe we should do things --- not for the awards, but for the pleasure we derive as human beings for helping others and advancing society.”
The NCPC is an association of professionals, board members and volunteers of nonprofit organizations serving North San Diego County communities. The Council provides education and training in fundraising and leadership development, promoting the values of philanthropy, fostering communication among those in the nonprofit sector and recognizing individuals whose efforts positively impact the community.
The Grauer School is a charitable institution led by a volunteer board; its students commit several thousand hours to humanitarian and ecological service annually, locally and globally.
