DAP Studios, Los Angeles Presents "Andy Says"

Los Angeles, CA, October 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- DAP Studios is proud to present an opening reception on November 11th celebrating the seminally expressive works of pop icon Andy Warhol. “Andy Says” will include more than 25 original screen prints representing Warhol’s work spanning more than two decades during the apex of his revolutionary career.

More than any other artist of his generation, Andy Warhol understood how the reproduced image reflected and shaped contemporary life. Warhol’s decision to manipulate every day symbols from popular culture and combine them with the printing processes of the commercial world was an essential element to his artistic statement. Truly ahead of his time, he cleverly discovered a way to be original yet universal in his craft.

Iconic motifs in Warhol’s work such as “The Star” (Greta Garbo) and a pink lipped Jagger will be exhibited alongside other popular pieces such as “After the Party,” Muhammad Ali, and a highly sought after Mickey Mouse trial proof.

Opening reception held Thursday 11/11 from 6 -10pm.
