Massively Parallel Technologies Inc. Expands Patent Portfolio to 420 Claims
Rich Patent Portfolio is Basis for the Blue Cheetahâ„¢ Application Ecosystem for Cloud Computing
Phoenix, AZ, October 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Massively Parallel Technologies, Inc. (MPT) today announced that it has expanded its patent portfolio in the U.S. and in Japan, raising the total number of its claims to 420 claims. The company has several other patents pending. MPT's patent portfolio includes a number of core capabilities such as parallel processing, data movement, algorithmic transformations, and automated collection and distribution of payments. These patents provide the technical foundation for MPT's Blue Cheetah application ecosystem, a suite of software products that revolutionize application development in cloud computing environments.
“MPT's technology foundation is what enables it to pursue a bold vision to radically reduce cost and complexity," said Bobbi Hazard, CEO of MPT. "The Blue Cheetah application ecosystem goes well beyond compilers, libraries, and app stores to provide a complete environment for today's software developers."
US patent application publication #20100251259 covers resource allocation and revenue management in a dynamic heterogeneous network that is managed from multiple locations, a scenario that is familiar to architects and application developers in cloud computing environments.
The Japanese patent #2008109628B has 21 claims which include the "Howard Cascade" for problem distribution and answer agglomeration, serial and parallel I/O, and run-time node allocation/de-allocation (used in the Blue Cheetah – Coalition product) as well as composite functions and algorithm/kernel definitions (used in Blue Cheetah – Cub.) This patent represents some of the core capabilities of MPT and offers the primary building block for complete patent protection of MPT technology in Japan.
MPT unveiled the industry's first application ecosystem software for modern cloud computing environments on September 28, 2010. Billed as "The iTunes of Algorithms" by HPCwire, the leading publication in high-end computing, the Blue Cheetah application ecosystem is first to address a host of challenges in the emerging "app-centric" world of the internet. Suitable for a wide variety of industries such as massive multi-player gaming, cloud computing, business analytics, or numerically intensive applications, the Blue Cheetah application ecosystem is comprised of multiple interlocking software products the first of which, "Blue Cheetah – Cub," has been released in beta form.
About Massively Parallel Computing
Massively Parallel Technologies (MPT) has conceived of a revolutionary software ecosystem that radically simplifies application development and improves user experience. Cloud computing and multi-core processors offer massive opportunities for performance and efficiency, but they create a significant problem in application creation, collaboration, optimization, rights management, access, and monetization. MPT solves that problem. With a rich patent portfolio and deep technology roots, MPT's leadership, board of directors, and board of advisors include industry luminaries and veterans from Oracle, Dell, Sun, IBM, STK, and Cray. The company is privately held and is headquartered in Boulder, Colo. For more information, visit www.massivelyparallel.com.
