Global Trading Systems Releases Heads Up!: Product Development Software Exclusively for the Headwear Industry
New offering is a simple yet complete solution for the managing line plans, product concepts, specifications/material list and sampling.
Kirkland, WA, October 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Global Trading System Inc. is pleased to announce the release of Heads Up!, the first software application specifically designed for the headwear industry to streamline the planning, specifying, sampling and commercialization of product.
“The need for a PLM system for headwear became very apparent to us as we assisted a new headwear component company,” observes Janet Amico, GTS’ President. “In speaking with merchandisers and developers, we quickly learned there was no affordable, scalable solution available to them. With our experience in delivering PLM solutions for footwear and home textiles, we jumped at the chance to do the same for headwear,” she added.
The goal in developing Heads Up! was to provide an application that is intuitive, simple to use, visual and contextual in nature and yet flexible enough to handle all categories including caps, hats and millinery. Heads Up! users can define Lines, broadcast target Style and marketing goals internally, record and collaborate on specifications, materials and construction issues. As designs near completion, Heads Up! then supports the sampling process from request through completion by providing a single location for merchandisers, developers agents and even partners to view product details, materials, drawings, instructions and Style-level blogs. Initial margin analysis can be performed via a financial wizard that is included in the offering.
According to GTS' Dan Mathews, "The underlying processes required by headwear are similar to the other consumer goods industries we are already in. Our discussions with headwear executives gave us a real insight as to how headwear is different. We were then able to leverage both our experience and existing code to come out with a solution I am really excited about,” he added.
