New Image Emergency Shelter to Host Its Annual Fundraiser a Dinner Gala & Cruise Celebrating 21 Years of Service
Celebrities come out to support New Image Emergency Shelter' Charity Voyage. They will cruise for a cause to help raise awareness and funds in the fight against homelessness in Los Angeles. New Image has provided services to nearly 1 million unduplicated clients.
Long Beach, CA, October 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- New Image Emergency Shelter for the Homeless, Inc., (New Image) will host its Annual Fundraiser, October 16, 2010, 7:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. aboard the Pacific Avalon Yacht, “The Majestic” docked in Long Beach, California. The event will be hosted by CBS news anchorwoman Suzanne Marques and will celebrate 21 years of service to the community, providing emergency and transitional housing, with comprehensive Case Management, and Supportive Services, to more than 2.1 million homeless and low-income individuals and families, throughout Los Angeles County. This year’s fundraiser will also highlight and celebrate the Life of William J. Moran, attorney and husband of co-founder Lynda Moran. William J. Moran provided Legal Services for New Image (Pro-Bono), for more than 18 years and is greatly missed.
The evening will kick-off with a red carpet and media press line, welcoming celebrity guests and supporters. As The Majestic sets sail, guests will enjoy a pre-reception featuring a one hour hosted bar and Hors D’oeuvres, followed by a four-course meal, live entertainment, and a short ceremony acknowledging long time supporters and Corporate Sponsors. Throughout the night, guests are encouraged to participate in the Silent Auction featuring ‘Vacation Getaways’ consisting of Weekday and Weekend Hotel stays in Los Angeles and surrounding cities. There will be lots of mixing and mingling as the evening will culminate in a raffle with the opportunity to win a ‘Carnival Cruise’ for two, compliments of ‘Carnival Cruises.’ Proceeds from the event will go to benefit all of the New Image programs’ that provide services to homeless families with children. New Image Emergency Shelter for the Homeless (New Image) was incorporated in March, 1990 with the following Mission to: (1) decrease and (2) prevent homelessness throughout Los Angeles County by providing comprehensive Case Management and Supportive Services, housing, job search and placement, outreach, and referral services.
New Image, as a social service provider began providing services to homeless and low-income individuals and families with children, in 1989. At that time, New Image operated one (1) program, had four (4) employees, and an Annual Gross Income (AGI) of $14,000.00. Today, more than 20 years later, it operates sixteen (16) programs, provides numerous supportive services, has over 240 employees, and an AGI that exceeds 6.7 Million. In December 2009, New Image achieved a milestone, having provided comprehensive case management and supportive services to more than 2.1 million duplicated clients (meaning that they were served more than once) homeless and low-income individuals and families with children, of which over 97,444 were unduplicated clients.
