ClinicalSkillsReview.net Releases Flagship Medical Exam Preparation Service for MD, PA and DO, Residency Candidates
Web based Subscription Service Provides Access to Real-Life Encounters for the USMLE-ECFMG Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills) Exam.
Wayne, PA, October 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Clinical Skills Review, LLC today announced that their first product, the USMLE Step 2 CS Examination Preparation site was available by subscription to all US and foreign medical school students and graduates. Medical school students who wish to complete their education by fulfilling their residency requirements in a US based hospital must first pass this grueling, in-person exam at one of the 5 authorized testing facilities located in Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, or Houston. The exam can take more than 4 hours to complete and the average backlog for scheduling in any of the examination centers is around 6 months. A medical school graduate who fails the USMLE Step 2 CS exam will typically lose their opportunity for a residency in a US based hospital due to the long lead time to re-schedule the exam.
Ron Angelo, Founder and President of Clinical Skills Review pointed out that, “Almost 38% of all foreign medical school students and 14% of US based medical school students fail this exam the first time they attempt it. Subscribing to the CSR online video library of 50 critical encounters will provide the student with a basis to not only prepare for the exam, but offers a real-life example of exactly what the examination environment will be. Our video encounters were written and executed by board certified physicians, physicians assistants, and certified standardized patients, not actors, so the content is real.”
Howard Lubert, the company’s Chief Operating Officer added, “In creating CSR’s USMLE Step 2 CS program Ron (Angelo) has created an online educational tool that is equal to or superior to any of the existing programs available to medical school graduates and has the added feature of being available via the Web, 24x7, which removes the necessity of having to travel to a US city like New York or San Francisco to participate in a live preparation program.”
Dr. Raza Bokhari, a Philadelphia based physician and entrepreneur who served as an advisor and investor to the company said, “Sometimes being totally prepared is not enough because of the FUD Factor, Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. I believe that the Clinical Skills Review program will significantly reduce the number of exam failures by foreign medical school students by providing not only the encounter content, but the exposure to the actual testing conditions and direct exposure to the techniques and English language required to successfully navigate the exam.”
Clinical Skills Review is located in Wayne, PA about 15 miles from the Philadelphia USMLE testing facility.
