New York, NY, October 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Spoken soul rocker (i am) isis has premiered the official video to “Drive Me,” the first single off her debut studio album on AfroPunk.com: http://bit.ly/bojXBr.
Her album, amazingly random, is set for release this winter and is a “random-by-design” fusion of rock, poetry and soul music. The haunting “Drive Me” is no exception, sliding between a cappella notes and a guitar-driven dance melody.
“'Drive Me' is a rock-driven, spoken soul-charged call to go crazy (the good kind) in love and life,” said (i am) isis. “It’s not just about a physical experience,” explains the Newark-born, Minneapolis-raised phenom. “It’s about the push and pull – the tension – we experience when pursuing our passions.”
Having worked with such legendary artists as Reflection Eternal and Sadat X, director Mark Carrenceja (Noisemaker Media), continues to redefine his visual style, easily transitioning between the hip-hop and rock aesthetic in this video produced in collaboration with award-winning art director/stylist Kimberly Steward.
The single is also currently available as a free download at http://iamisis.bandcamp.com.
A video release party is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26 in NYC, in association with Uptown and VIBE magazines and hosted by National Poetry Association award winner Tai Allen (vicelounge).
