Longwood University Upgrades to Awareity’s Enhanced MOAT Service
Farmville, VA, October 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In July 2010, Longwood University upgraded its Awareity MOAT (Managed Ongoing Awareness and Trust) web-based tools to the Enhanced Vault giving University administrators access to all of MOAT’s new features and options.
The MOAT Enhanced Vault allows Longwood to upload training presentations, policies, procedures, videos, maps, spreadsheets, etc. into MOAT and communicate these documents to all affected personnel on an ongoing basis as updates and changes are made. The Enhanced Vault also provides Longwood MOAT Administrators the ability to ask customized true/false or multiple choice questions to test User understanding and acknowledgement.
The Enhanced Vault enables all university personnel and third-parties (faculty, adjuncts, employees, supervisors, vendors, contractors, etc.) to better understand their individual roles and responsibilities and comply with new and updated federal and state regulations. MOAT provides Longwood with the fastest and easiest way to implement training, plans, policies and procedures with tracking and on-demand progress reporting and documentation.
Awareity recently introduced free training options available with the Enhanced Vault, including updated training for FERPA and the HIPAA/HITECH regulations. By taking advantage of Awareity’s training modules which are updated as rules and regulations change, Longwood University is able to save time and reduce expensive administrative and training costs.
“The HIPAA training ensures that we get our annual training on HIPAA for the faculty and graduate students in clinical programs that must adhere to HIPAA requirements,” said Dr. Lissa Power-deFur, Director of Longwood Center for Communication, Literacy, and Learning.
The Enhanced Vault also provides Longwood access to new TIPS (Threat Assessment, Incident Management and Prevention Services). TIPS empowers university employees, students, staff and third-parties to confidentially report incidents (bullying, workplace violence, information security incidents, employment issues, ethical issues, threats, suspicious incidents, etc.). TIPS then automatically notifies appropriate threat assessment team members or staff and tracks all actions with on-demand reporting and documentation.
Longwood University has been utilizing Awareity’s standard MOAT tools since 2006 to ensure safety, security and privacy and address mounting challenges and regulations, while saving time, money and valuable resources.
