Two Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. Employees Earn Certification as a Master Stormwater Practitioner (MSP)
In continuing with their pledge to be leaders in the environmental consulting market, two employees of WEG have earned designation as a Master Stormwater Practitioner (MSP) to better serve their clients.
Williamsburg, VA, October 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Williamsburg Environmental Group, Inc. (WEG), an industry leader in environmental consulting, is pleased to announce that Mr. W. Douglas Beisch, Jr., P.E. and Mr. Daniel A. Proctor, P.E. recently earned the title of Master Stormwater Practitioners. Mr. Beisch and Mr. Proctor successfully completed a stormwater training program in late September tailored around new stormwater regulations for the Commonwealth of Virginia and the surrounding states of Maryland, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The training was provided through the Chesapeake Bay Stormwater Training Partnership (CBSTP)
The Chesapeake Bay Stormwater Training Partnership, a joint effort lead by the Chesapeake Stormwater Network and the Center for Watershed Protection, was created to deliver targeted training on new tools and practices to improve the management of stormwater runoff. The Partnership works with stormwater design professionals from local government and the private sector to understand and apply the latest stormwater management design and implementation strategies. For more information on the CBSTP, visit cbstp.org.
Both Mr. Beisch and Mr. Proctor are recognized water resources experts with a focus on environmental site design, stormwater management, and surface water quality management. Their duties at WEG include design, modeling, and supervision of plan and project reviews for federal, state, and local, commercial, residential, institutional, and transportation projects, with regard to non-point source pollutant mitigation, Best Management Practice design, drainage design, and hydrologic analyses.
WEG has worked with the Center for Watershed Protection to develop new tools and construction specifications for innovative stormwater practices. Through the CBSTP, WEG can assist local governments, engineering firms, and regulated entities by providing tailored stormwater design training. The CBSTP sponsors free or low-cost training for designers and reviewers, and will sponsor Master Stormwater Practitioners to host design seminars and provide on-site technical assistance. Given the rapid pace of adoption of low-impact and environmental site design approaches, and myriad regulatory initiatives at a local, state and federal level, WEG is prepared to help our clients to keep pace.
“The achievement of these two engineers underscores what WEG values: keeping on the forefront of environmental education and solutions to better serve our clients. I am very proud of their success,” said Mr. Ronald J. Boyd, P.E., President and co-founder of WEG.
