Enslow Publishers, Inc. Releases New Teen Holocaust Series
True Stories of Teens in the Holocaust series provides a great resource that can be used for Holocaust curriculum and International Holocaust Remembrance Day connections.
Berkeley Heights, NJ, October 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Enslow Publishers, publisher of children’s books for the school and library market, announces the release of its new series, True Stories of Teens in the Holocaust, in time for International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, 2011.
The United Nations General Assembly designates January 27th, the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi death camp, as International Holocaust Remembrance Day as a day to honor the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
Enslow’s new six-book series, for grades 9–12, serves as a great tie-in to Holocaust Remembrance Day for educators. Told through the words of teenagers, these books explore the destruction of childhood in Nazi Germany. Primary sources provide detailed stories of young people that remained trapped in ghettos and others forced into hiding, as well as teens who escaped and others that did not survive the Holocaust. All six books tell the stories of courageous young people that fought back.
"Our goal was to create books for high school students with gripping primary-source accounts that capture the experiences of young people in the Holocaust. We know teens like to read about other teens. We think educators and students alike will find the details in these books unique and engaging."
Titles included in the True Stories of Teens in the Holocaust series are:
Courageous Teen Resisters ISBN 978-0-7660-3269-9
