PR Delivered with an Environmental and Social Conscience

There’s a new PR shop in town and associates have some definite ideas about how to run the business: to be better than carbon neutral and be involved in the community while providing excellent service.

Halifax, Canada, October 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Colleen Gareau established The Seventh Estate Public Relations Group to offer clients extraordinary communications services in a way that is good to the environment. She contacted some talented colleagues who shared the same mindset and Seventh Estate PR was born.

“I’ve been concerned about the environment since I was eight years old and got a group of neighbourhood kids together to write letters of complaint to local steel companies,” Gareau said.

Today, opportunities abound for business to take the environment into consideration when planning its operations. That’s what The Seventh Estate has done.

Individually, associates reduce their impacts on the environment as much as possible; corporately, the firm operates in a virtual environment to minimize its carbon creation, incorporates the 3Rs into daily practice and purchases energy through alternative sources that are EcoLogo certified. The Seventh Estate buys enough carbon-offset credits to ensure its operations are better-than-carbon-neutral. These credits meet The Gold Standard.

“Our philosophy is based on a classic concept – that we can embrace personal values and sound business practices with both elements carrying equal weight in our decision-making process,” Gareau said. “In addition to our care for our environment, I have been involved in the volunteer sector and my company will continue to support the non-profit sector through pro bono work.”

The Seventh Estate Public Relations Group specializes in communication counsel, strategy development and implementation, media relations, change and internal communication, social media, SEO advice, training and facilitation, and writing and editing.

“I’ve been asked if our goal is to green the companies we work with,” Gareau said. “We can certainly help our clients in this area, if they are interested. Our primary job, however, is to deliver good service. Because of our practices, our clients are assured their communication will be produced with as few negative impacts on the environment as possible.”

Watch for their annual offer to charities to solicit their requests for free PR. work.
