Cincinnati Talent Joseph Harrington Lands Starring Role on Broadway
Cincinnati, OH, October 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cincinnati talent Joseph Harrington is getting ready to take the Big Apple by storm. Starring as Billy in the highly acclaimed “Billy Elliot,” Harrington’s first performance is this Sunday, October 24, 2010. Landing a role on Broadway is a tough enough prospect for anyone, but landing a role as physically demanding and requiring such immense talent in the art of dance, as well as singing and acting is a monumental achievement that has not phased Cincinnati native, Harrington.
This hardworking, driven young man has been preparing for this role for a large part of his life. His interest in dance, acting and modeling brought him to Cincinnati’s premier talent manager, Wings Model Management in 2006. Jake Lang, remembers his first encounter, “ You know it when you see it. Joseph had it and there was going to be no stopping him. My role was simply going to be to guide and nurture him the best I could and help him achieve his dreams.”
“Joseph had the work ethic and commitment needed to make it in the entertainment industry and we started him out with local auditions and talent expos,” added Lang. “Getting your feet wet and building the confidence to take on an audition as big as a Broadway role is the most important step agents should guide young talent through.”
Joseph’s experience prior to this role included parts in “The Nutcracker” locally and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” also on Broadway. He is a ballet major at the well respected, School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati. He is on leave while tackling the Billy Elliot role.
