Greg Stonehocker Delivers Business Lessons to The Boys and Girls Club
Coaching for a Cause uses business coaching principles to help charities raise funds.
Las Vegas, NV, October 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge, Alberta was interested in taking a more business-like approach to their non-profit organization, which is why they hired Trevor Broadhead to be their Executive Director.
When Broadhead was approached by ActionCOACH Greg Stonehocker about the Coaching for a Cause Program, Broadhead knew he had to take advantage of the program.
Coaching for a Cause is a far-reaching, global pro-bono coaching program that helps non-profits and charities from all walks of life increase their top-level goals and better manage their funds through a simple pledge system. The program is designed to bring the proven and systemized business building methodology ActionCOACH uses to help for-profit business owners to non-profit entities.
Last year was the first time Coaching for a Cause ran and it was incredibly successful as ActionCOACH helped raise almost $3 million world-wide. This year the goal is to have 100 coaches donate at least 10,000 coaching hours to produce $5 million in additional funds for the chosen charities.
With the holiday season fast approaching, Coaching for a Cause is a great way for the ActionCOACH community to give back to those less fortunate.
Stonehocker worked with The Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge last year and was able to help raise almost $90,000 for the Club, enough funds to install a new gym floor. This year the goal is even higher as they are hoping to expand their services to include 30 new spaces for children in need.
Executive Director Trevor Broadhead said, “Coaching for a Cause is an awesome concept. The idea of bringing business coaching principles to non-profits is an exceptional idea. There are a lot of non-profits struggling and I think it’s because they don’t get the kind of training in building their business that we’ve gotten through Coaching for a Cause.”
With Coaching for a Cause, Broadhead is hoping to raise $130,000 this year, which he hopes to use for expansion opportunities and other expenses for The Boys and Girls Club. But it isn’t just the fund raising aspect of Coaching for a Cause that has impressed Broadhead.
“Since starting this program last year we have seen improvement across the board. We’ve been able to incorporate so much that we’ve learned from Greg. Our training and team building has gotten better and we always stay above the line,” Broadhead continued.
“Working with Greg has been terrific because he’s not just a coach he’s a sounding board and mentor. He helps me plan strategic goals and keep me focused on those goals and this year our goal is to help more children than ever before.”
ActionCOACH is the world’s number one business coaching and executive coaching firm, with more than 1,000 offices in 32 countries. To learn more about ActionCOACH and Coaching for a Cause, go to actioncoach.com.
