Kangaroo’s Shoes sends positive message with funny rhymes and educational tools
Dayton native and writer Richelle Taylor Krzak today announced her first children’s book, Kangaroo’s Shoes, will be available in stores and online November 25, 2010.
The story, illustrated by Columbus resident Sunny Colaneri, follows little Joey Kangaroo on an elaborate adventure to retrace his steps in order to find his lost shoes. Joey’s efforts to keep the secret from his mother end up taking him on a journey where he encounters unique animal friends and ultimately learns an important lesson about honesty and a parent’s unconditional love.
“As a parent, your heart goes out to Joey because he puts so much energy into keeping a secret from his mother because he’s scared he’ll let her down,” said Taylor Krzak. “In the end, Joey finds that things would have been easier if he just would have told the truth from the start. What parent doesn’t want to stress that life lesson to their children?”
While fun to read, Kangaroo’s Shoes is also filled with skill-building elements teachers and parents alike can use for youth education. Letters from the alphabet are highlighted throughout the book for children to identity as they turn the pages. In addition, the book uses rhyming sounds and introduces children to unusual wildlife, including a Kookaburra and Platypus, giving young readers a learning opportunity.
Taylor Krzak said Kangaroo’s Shoes was inspired by her international travel and by experiences as a working wife and mother raising two wonderful, if precocious, children.
A video preview of the book is available now at http://bize-mom.com/books. Books will be available for purchase November 25 through any book retailer or on the author and publisher websites.
Although this is her first children’s book, Taylor Krzak has been a published writer in trade and online publications for more than 14 years. In her spare time, she is creator and writer for Biz e-Mom’s Blog.
Taylor Krzak grew up in Beavercreek, OH, is an alumnus of The Ohio State University, and currently resides in Warren County, OH.
