Home-Tech Named Philanthropist of the Year
Fort Myers, FL, October 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The employee owners of Home-Tech and founder/CEO Steve Marino were selected as Gulfshore Life magazine’s 2010 Philanthropist of the Year in the Lee County business category. Winners were announced in the magazine’s September issue and honored at a reception September 28.
Home-Tech was selected for its history of strong support of local charitable organizations. In addition to financial support, the company maintains air conditioning systems and appliances at homes and clinics operated by Ronald McDonald House Charities, Eden Autism Services Florida and the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW). In August 2009, Home-Tech began including its customers in the act of giving by introducing its Charity of the Month program, which donates a portion of the price of each new air conditioning system purchased to a different charity each month in customers’ names.
“We’re in the service business and to us this is just an extension into community service. We feel it’s important to give back to show our appreciation and support to these organizations that do so much for Southwest Florida and its residents,” Marino says. “We’re an employee-owned company, so this is something all of us stand behind and have a passion for.”
Gulfshore Life honors outstanding individuals and businesses, nominated by their peers, each year. Entries are reviewed and winners chosen by Gulfshore Life in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Collier County and the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.
