After the successful premiere of his first film, Little Soldier, Dallas King, Principal of Onyx Entertainment, takes his newest project, Tattoo, to the American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica California. In advance of the film’s entry, King will host a “Bound by Ink” industry mixer and screening event, sponsored by Tequila 55, for all American Film Market (AFM) attendees, in efforts to attract potential investors.
Celebration of the event will take place on Sunday November 7, 2010, from 7:00 PM- 11:00 PM at The Yard, 119 Broadway Santa Monica, CA 90405.
The high-profile event will entertain key executives in the independent and mainstream film profession—both international and domestic. Guests and aficionados alike will be able to have an opportunity to meet with Dallas, gain interest in the film, and view a concept trailer to determine potential marketability. Cast members from the trailer will also be in character throughout the duration of the evening, to visually aid in the costume design and theme. Some of the clothing will be provided by Bad Girl University. More information can be found at: www.TattooTheFilm.com.
About The Film:
Inspiration for Tattoo parallels the gang culture seen in The Warriors, the brotherhood of The Outsiders, the tragic love of Romeo And Juliet, and the thrill of Fast and the Furious. The riveting action drama of Tattoo synergistically weaves the worlds of mixed martial arts fighting and economic diversity with the symbolism of tattoo art and social expressionism in a new world era. When asked about his vision for the project, Dallas stated, “I envision Tattoo as a romantic story about urban cultures, families, and history that will captivate the audience.”
About The Director:
Dallas King’s journey began in production at the Hollywood Film and Acting Academy (HWFAA) and flourished while working on his Master’s in Directing at UCLA Film School. Dallas has written, produced, and directed numerous projects including Diablo, Little Soldier, Close, and Evolution; however, he is best known for his charity work with Big Kids Care, where he directed a Public Service Announcement featuring Patrick Gallagher (Glee).
Dallas has earned the 2010 Motion Picture Association of America Award, the Four Sisters Award for Directing, and the Michael Minor and Robert Green Award for Directing. He always finds time to give back to the community and has volunteered with the Los Angeles Education Program (LAEP), the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), and fundraising programs that target at-risk youth.
