A New Content Provider for Healthcare IT Companies
Two journalists have started a company to provide case studies, white papers and other marketing materials to healthcare IT companies.
Minneapolis, MN, January 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Two award-winning Twin Cities journalists announce the creation of a consulting service that provides professional creative content to clients in the field of healthcare information technology.
Featherly-Jossi (www.featherly-jossi.com), produces white papers, case studies, articles, speeches and other marketing and educational content to assist healthcare information technology (HIT) providers in meeting their communications needs. “We have a strong team with almost four decades of combined experience as journalists and consultants,” says Kevin Featherly, who first began working collaboratively with colleague Frank Jossi in 2005. “More than a decade of that involves HIT, so we understand very well how crucial information technology is in the ongoing transformation of healthcare from a paper world to the digital realm. It's a great field to be associated with.”
Featherly and Jossi began collaborating on white papers and market reports for HIT clients in early 2005, and have completed a number of major projects for such enterprises as the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)—the world’s largest HIT industry association—its research arm HIMSS Analytics, Amcom Software, Inc. (a national leader in emergency alert notification and call center management software), and several other companies.
“Lots of companies are now using white papers and case studies for educational purposes and to build strong client relationships," say Jossi. "What we bring is an expertise in doing just that, and in understanding technology, journalism and storytelling.”
Featherly is a former managing editor with Washington Post Newsweek Interactive and former news editor for McGraw-Hill's Healthcare Informatics, in addition to stints at daily newspapers and Web sites in California and Minnesota. He most often works in the arenas of information technology, and has had articles published in Editor and Publisher, Online Journalism Review, Healthcare Quarterly, the San Francisco Chronicle, Washingtonpost.com, Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Minnesota Monthly, Utne Reader, and many others. In 2000, he served as media coordinator to the Markle Foundation's Web, White and Blue online presidential debates.
Jossi, twice awarded Fulbright scholarships to teach abroad, has more than two decades of experience as a writer, editor and educator for publications, corporations and educational institutions. As a journalist, he worked as a staff writer for newspapers in Savannah, Ga., and in suburban Washington, D.C., and has published articles in Wired, The Fedgazette, Twin Cities Business Monthly, Minnesota Technology, Hemispheres, The Rake, Healthcare Informatics, Healthplan, Business and Health, Mpls/StPaul, QSR, Wired News, The Star Tribune, The Pioneer Press, The Business Journal, Architecture Minnesota, Planning and dozens of other publications.
As a writer of press materials, speeches and white papers, Frank has worked closely with clients such as Amcom Software, Inc., Ameregis, Fairfax County, Va., the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Agiliti, Inc. and Net Perceptions. As an educator, he served as program director of the World Press Institute at Macalester College for three years and taught journalism in Pakistan (1988-89) and Albania (1993). He currently is a policy fellow at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute.
