Online Education & Training Leader VectorLearning Races for the Cure and Beyond
Its team ran October 2 to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Breast Cancer Awareness month, but this Tampa online education and training firm maintains the effort all year long to honor its team members.
Tampa, FL, October 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- VectorLearning – comprised of RedVector, the online education and training leader for the design and construction industry and Care2Learn, an online education tour-de-force for the long-term healthcare market – marked a banner month this October with its participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in St. Petersburg.
In what has become an annual tradition, many staffers and their family members were at the starting line at dawn – not only to help fund breast cancer research but to support several team members who are currently trying to outrun the disease. Last year, the team rallied behind someone who relapsed. This year, someone newly diagnosed at Stage 4 was added to the roster.
Both women are recovering – but over the last few years, these instances not only turned the spotlight on people close to home; it hit the high beams in terms of urgency.
VectorLearning’s fundraising efforts for the Susan G. Komen Foundation aren’t limited to the company-sponsored race. A combination of employee-sponsored breakfasts, lunches, bake sales, and other promotions have helped raise VectorLearning’s total donation at press time to more than $7,500.
“Support for philanthropic causes and the community is a cornerstone of the VectorLearning culture, and it is important to us that we contribute to the greater good,” said Tom Wallace, CEO of VectorLearning. “But this illness has hit close to home, and everyone on the staff is invested in ensuring the best possible outcome in the least amount of time.”
In addition to its year round support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Race for the Cure informally kicks off a season of giving at VectorLearning that routinely includes toy and food drives for Metropolitan Ministries and both corporate and independent fundraising campaigns for other worthy causes.
