Local Filmmakers and Animators to Promote Filipino Creative Content in Japan
Pasay City, Philippines, October 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Recent international acclamations garnered by Filipino films produced and directed by the likes of Brilliante Mendoza, Pepe Diokno and Raya Martin further affirm the country’s creative prowess. With the conclusion of the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival 2010, its time local filmmakers once again turn their creative works to foreign skies.
The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), an attached arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), has been paving the way for international recognition of local film and animation companies by spearheading participation in festivals abroad. CITEM is on its 2nd year of sending delegations to Hong Kong Filmart, and is now embarking on penetrating the Content Market at the Tokyo International Film Festival with the best of the Philippine film and animation industry.
Labeled as one of the three command centers of the world economy, Japan has truly created a name for itself as a powerhouse in Asia. The Tokyo International Film Festival further ratifies Japan being at par with American and European nations, diversifying its influential force through the film and animation industry.
The 7th TIFFCOM Marketplace for Film and TV in Asia will serve as another vehicle for Filipino animators and filmmakers in making waves in the global film market. 2010 serves as the primary year for Filipino participation through Creative Philippines, bringing novelty to the festival and business avenues for Filipino creative talent.

The reported value of business deals created amounted to 44,936,961 in U.S. dollars.
