The John Rex Endowment Announces New Board Members and Officers

Raleigh, NC, October 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The John Rex Endowment is pleased to announce the selection of new members and officers of its board of directors. New board members include George Reed, executive director of the North Carolina Council of Churches, and Linda Butler, MD, vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at Rex Healthcare.

Wake County Chief District Court Judge Robert Rader has been appointed board chair. Sherry Worth will serve as vice chair, and Larry Barbour, president and CEO of North State Bank, will serve as treasurer. Orage Quarles III, president and publisher of The News & Observer will continue to serve as secretary.

Leah Devlin, DDS, immediate past board chair, and Dick Myers, MD, who previously served as finance chair, have completed their terms of service and leadership.
