TouchSystems Continues to Grow
Hutto, TX, October 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- TouchSystems continues to buck the national trend of job and profit losses, adding six employees since the beginning of September, and increasing production and invoicing by 50% each since August.
Doing so does not require a magic touch. Instead, TouchSystems is thriving in a wide-open touch screen market that sees new products and innovations introduced almost daily. While U.S.-based manufacturing jobs continue to be lost to overseas, the U.S. has managed to keep a hold on 23.5% of the touch screen market according to Information Display magazine. TouchSystems has capitalized on that hold, choosing to hire locally and manufacture their product locally, making sure at least a small amount of that 23.5% remains in the Austin area. With a projected growth rate of 14% by 2015, DisplaySearch places total touch screen revenues to top $9 billion in that time period—a rate ten times faster than that of the non-touch display market.
In order to capture some of that projected growth, TouchSystems has hired Khiet Chau as Vice President of Engineering, who’s primary goal is to develop new products to enable TouchSystems to grow and compete in the touch screen market. Chau brings with him dual degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, along with over 15 years of experience with IBM, Dell and Selectron.
“We’re growing, and in order to have more sales TouchSystems needs new products,” said Chau. “It’s a challenge, and I like it. I like to face it.”
TouchSystems’ other recent hires have been in sales and marketing, along with operations and manufacturing.
