After much anticipation, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (ILDCEO) released on Friday, October 22, 2010, the Solar & Wind Energy Rebate Program for Fiscal Year 2011. Applicants are strongly encouraged to respond quickly due to the anticipated demand. Chicago, IL, November 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- After much anticipation, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (ILDCEO) released on Friday, October 22, 2010, the Solar & Wind Energy Rebate Program for Fiscal Year 2011. Eligible Illinois applicants, including homeowners and businesses, can apply for rebates equal to 30% of total project costs; public sector and non-profit entities may apply for 50% of the total project. The maximum rebate is $50,000 per application. The ILDCEO program, when combined with available Federal incentives, offsets a substantial portion of the upfront costs associated with long-term solar energy savings and investment returns.
Although the state’s announcement indicated the program is scheduled to run through April 30, 2011 or when funds run out, the latter is a more realistic expectation for interested parties. The Fiscal Year 2010 Program Budget was fully awarded in less than three months due to the overwhelming response.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to respond quickly due to the anticipated demand. It is speculated funds will expire in a much shorter time period presenting only a limited window of opportunity to take advantage of the program.
