About the author:

Born and raised in the heart of uptown New Orleans, Tasha Thomas-Naquin comes from a "broken home" and was molested by a close family friend. Writing became her way of expressing herself without having to say a word to any one. She penned her first poem, “Alone,” when she was fourteen. Poetry became her way of dealing with the chaos and depression in her life. As a child she remembers watching her mom working her fingers to the bone struggling to make ends meet. Tasha has decided to give readers a glimpse inside her heart to give a voice to those who may be able to see themselves through her eyes. She knows that someone, somewhere, can relate to something she has experienced on life's journey.
