Medical Oncologist/Hematologist Joins Women & Infants' Program in Women's Oncology
Medical oncologist and hematologist Tina Rizack, MD, MPH, has joined the staff at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island in the Program in Women’s Oncology. She will also serve as clinical instructor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Providence, RI, November 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Medical oncologist and hematologist Tina Rizack, MD, MPH, has joined the staff at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island in the Program in Women’s Oncology. She will also serve as clinical instructor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Rizack, a Providence resident, earned a bachelor’s degree in art history from Emory University, a master’s degree in public health from Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and a medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine. She completed internships in obstetrics and gynecology and internal medicine and a residency in internal medicine at The University of Chicago Hospitals. She also completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Prior to joining Women & Infants, Dr. Rizack worked as a hospitalist at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Morton Hospital and Medical Center and Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where she helped launch the hospitalist program.
Dr. Rizack has co-written several chapters in the guide Pocket Primary Care, including those focusing on chronic renal failure, Pap smears, and pregnancy. She helped coordinate the presentation “Malignancy in Pregnancy Standard Operating Procedures” for Women & Infants’ Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program’s intranet website. She has published research abstracts on the management of hematological malignancies during pregnancy, infections in postpartum women and malignancies of the urinary tract, and has made invited presentations on medical disorders in pregnancy, malignancy in pregnancy and the treatment of breast cancer in older women.
Dr. Rizack is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the Obstetric Medicine Society. While working as a hospitalist, she was a member of the Young Hospitalists Task Force Committee of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
