Friends Forever Releases New Video to Promote Peace in the Middle East
Portsmouth, NH, November 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Friends Forever, a 501(c)(3) global non-partisan advocacy and awareness organization dedicated to peace, has released a new video aimed at educating the global community about the plight of children in areas of conflict and showing what is possible when society works together for peace. The video, titled “Did You Know?” features Israeli and Palestinian teens who participated in Friends Forever’s 2010 Life Raft program. The young leaders speak about their experiences of conflict at home and of solidarity here in the United States.
“Programs designed to foster peace in the Middle East are nothing new. Friends Forever takes a different approach by working directly with future leaders and creating awareness within the global business community,” said Steve Martineau, executive director of Friends Forever. “Peace starts by breaking down the barriers of fear, anger, and distrust that pervade these communities. In hearing from these teens, it becomes evident that by working together we can foster a dialogue that creates a better world for everyone.”
Friends Forever works with religious and business leaders in the United States and in conflicted countries to foster dialogue between cultures that promotes peace. Religious communities, with their strong moral authority and community history, are uniquely positioned to help create a positive environment for these teen leaders. Through several productive partnerships with businesses, Friends Forever has helped over 1,000 teens in the last 25 years.
ICE Worldwide is one of the many businesses that support the organization’s efforts. The Portsmouth, NH-based marketing agency donates its resources to help increase awareness for the program and its significant achievements.
“ICE Worldwide is proud to work with Friends Forever in its efforts to help children around the world live without fear of violence,” said Jocelyn Philbrook, founder and principal of ICE Worldwide. “Peace breeds productivity. For 25 years, Friends Forever has been making changes by creating young ambassadors who band together and promote peace. It is important for all of us to be aware of both the challenges and the opportunities, and how we can be a positive force for change.”
The “Did You Know?” video is available on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXI2KqiguiM), Facebook, and on the Friends Forever website (www.friendsforeverusa.org).
