New Book by Peter Fraser Chronicles Author’s Adventures in Australia; Released by Dog Ear Publishing

On this hitch-hiking and camping adventure, Peter Fraser takes readers through Australia and beyond. Explore the “dead heart” of the continent where little life is seen, contrasted with the surfers who find joy in the waves off the continent’s southeast coast. This serendipitous form of travel included a chance meeting with a member of an expedition to the Bindibu, a “lost tribe” believed to be the last known desert nomads, surviving a Paleolithic lifestyle.

La Jolla, CA, November 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Imagine meeting Aborigines who were still living their Stone Age ways, eking out an existence hunting lizards, grubs, birds, snakes and rabbits. These hunter-gatherers had no crops or domestic animals. They lived constantly on the move so they did not exhaust local food or water.

More Curious Than Cautious Book II, published by Dog Ear Publishing, continues the story told in More Curious Than Cautious: A Survivor’s Adventure Through Paradise, 1955-1957, when the author decides to continue traveling on land instead of flying home. In this new work, Fraser first visits Sydney and Melbourne, then heads to Alice Springs and the outback, where he has the adventure of a lifetime. Readers will be drawn by his description of surviving this naively conceived and inadequately equipped prodigious undertaking to the middle of the desert. Before heading home, he explores Darwin, Townsville, Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef, Cape York, Canberra, Torquay and Tasmania. He also visits Jakarta, Indonesia; Ceylon (Sri Lanka); India from Madurai to Bombay; Karachi, Pakistan; and the Middle East. This book, filled with stunning photographs, covers a nine-month visit to Australia, and three months in south Asia and the Near East.

Author Peter Fraser, born and raised on Long Island, New York, has a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Cornell University and a master’s degree in education from Hofstra College. He has taken solo trips around Europe and hitch-hiked the Pan American Highway from Venezuela along the west coast of South America to Bolivia and back.
