Wix Halloween Promotion Sparks Gain in Free Website Users
Wix.com, a platform lets you make your own website with ease, released a series of Halloween promotions this week. Users enjoyed premium discounts and a new batch of free website design.
New York, NY, November 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Website builder Wix.com hosted a successful Halloween-focused promotion this week, offering users discounts toward upgrades on premium Wix packages. Additionally, loads of spooky -- yet gorgeous -- animation files were added to the Wix bucket of free website design, offering users a seasonal batch of elements to add to their sites.
Signing up with Wix grants users access to the powerful drag & drop online platform, with which one can build a complete Flash website. The solution is wildly useful for those lacking the time, or skillset that was formerly required to build a website from scratch.
All websites created with the website builder are hosted for free under the Wix domain. Users who wish to gain ownership over their own domains, track site traffic with Google Analytics, or turn their site into an online shop have a selection of premium packages to grant these additional features.
The Halloween promotion granted the first 500 users who upgraded to a Premium package, special discounts. An email was sent to all users announcing the promotion. Midnight on Halloween marked the end of the promotion, but since so many users responded, two additional rounds of discounts were held, announced via e-mail.
All Wix users (free and Premium) gained a ton of new Halloween-inspired web art, dropped right inside the Wix collection of web design. Dripping blood, glowing lanterns, floating ghosts and spooky music files were spotted all over users’ sites, including the event invite for Wix’ Halloween Gala.
The event was thrown at the Wix Lounge in NYC - free workspace which opened in August, serving as an office-away-from-home for local designers, writers, artists, photographers and other creative types.
