Watrous Bros. Productions to Premiere Short Film

RI-based production company announces a premiere screening of their short film, Pursuing Nostalgia.

Pawtucket, RI, November 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Two Rhode Island brothers are about to have their ultimate dreams come true. After writing, casting, filming and editing their first screenplay, Alex and Elisha Watrous announced this week that “Pursuing Nostalgia” will be shown for the first time in the very setting where it was filmed. On Sunday November 14, 2010 at 6pm, Watrous Bros. Productions will welcome independent film-lovers to the Kellaway Center in Pawtucket, RI.

“Pursuing Nostalgia” takes place in a post-apocalyptic world about 13 years into our future. Through three news broadcasts in the beginning of the film, the Adulte Virus is discovered, wiping out the majority of the post-pubescent population within 3 years’ time, leaving a generation of children without parents or elders of any kind. The film shifts between 3 different characters: Brian, the “average Joe” or put simply, the guy we would likely be; Logan, the character who we all wish we could be, in other words the action hero; and Noah, the face of desperation, the character whom we fear we would become. The story follows these three characters in the last moments of their lives as they each kill to hold on to a piece of the past hidden in a small mysterious box.

Though new to productive filmmaking, R. Elisha E. Watrous III is no stranger to how people interact with stimuli or the art of making an effective motion picture. He and his brother have always enjoyed a good film and from a very young age, have been able to understand and critique what makes films successful. Over the years, they have done a few small skits together and apart, but only recently decided to officially collaborate efforts and combined talents to make films with more sustenance and planning. As co-director and primary writer for “Pursuing Nostalgia,” Elisha faced many elaborate obstacles, often reworking and rewriting the script to adapt to the schedule of the actors.

Now 17, younger brother Alexander R.N. Watrous believes life has already taught him a lot. Director of the film, Alex loves watching movies that show real life at its high points as well as its low points. Working with his brother after a lifetime of watching them, Alex discovered most of the time their ideas would clash, but they always found a good medium. Alex finds it important to have a good balance.

Rhode Island film-lovers are welcome to join the brothers as they celebrate their accomplishment. The start-up production company plans to have copies of the film available for sale at the event, as well as t-shirts. Attendees of the screening will be able to purchase refreshments, including popcorn. The full program runs until 8pm and will include screenings of other short films the brothers find inspirational to their work. Admission to the premiere is $2.00 at the door.
