Playa Vista Today and the Playa Vista Farmers' Market Announces the 2nd Annual Season of Giving Food Drive
Playa Vista Today will join the Playa Vista Farmers’ Market to collect food to donate to the LAX Food Pantry that supplies food to Inglewood, Westchester, Playa Del Rey and El Segundo and surrounding areas.
Los Angeles, CA, November 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Playa Vista Today and Playa Vista Farmers' Market is pleased to announce their second annual Season of Giving Food Drive as over one million people in Los Angeles County are at risk of going hungry. This year appears as though it may be the toughest with the skyrocketing cost of living and record poor economy has sent many working families into food pantries for the first time. In response to this ongoing hunger crisis, they are proud to host their second annual Season of Giving Food Drive.
Playa Vista Today will join the Playa Vista Farmers’ Market to collect food to donate to the LAX Food Pantry that supplies food to Inglewood, Westchester, Playa Del Rey and El Segundo and surrounding areas. The LAX Food Pantry can feed over 90 families each day they are open, which is Tuesdays & Fridays. The LAX Food Pantry is located at: 355 E. Beach Street in Inglewood, CA (310) 677-5597.
Starting on Saturday, November 27, 2010, area residents can drop off non-perishable food items at the Information Booth at the Playa Vista Farmers' Market. The drive will continue on Saturday, December 4 and Saturday, December 11. A donation bin will be at the Information Booth from 9:00 am – 2:00 p.m. The Playa Vista Farmers’ Market is located at 6400 Seabluff Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90094, corner of Discovery Creek & Seabluff Drive, From Jefferson Blvd: Enter on Concert Park Drive, From Lincoln Blvd: Enter on Bluff Creek Drive.
All donated food items will be delivered directly to the LAX Food Pantry. The types of foods that can be donated are: non-perishables, small canned goods, tuna, stews, soups, Peanut butter and jelly, Canned Fruits and vegetables, staples such as beans, rice, pasta.
