Supporting Ohio’s Troops Overseas
Yost Engineering sends care packages to Ohio-based canine unit
Portsmouth, OH, November 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Employees of Yost Engineering took part in their annual donation project to send care packages to Ohio-based soldiers stationed overseas. This is the fifth year that employees at Yost have packed up boxes of candy, pens and paper, boot insoles, magazines, and playing cards to send to soldiers who have volunteered to receive packages through the AnySoldier.com website.
This year, Yost Engineering chose to send packages to Air Force members as an employee’s son is currently overseas with the Air Force. This year’s recipients were also part of a K-9 unit and several of the 11 packages were treats and toys for the dogs.
“We all have great respect and admiration for our troops out there, and it seems to be a good way to thank at least a few of them,” says Aimee Miller, Yost Engineering employee who coordinated this year’s donation. “We have heard back from a couple of the groups and they are always very appreciative.”
AnySoldier began in 2003 as one soldier’s request to his parents to send care packages that he could give to others in his unit who did not recieve any. To date, more than 1.7 million troops in 22 locations have received packages that help make their time in harms way a bit more like home. For more information on the AnySoldier campaign, including how to donate please visit their website at www.AnySoldier.com.
