This news release announces Deloitte's joining the expanding EcoCommercial Building (ECB) Network of Bayer MaterialScience LLC in North America (NA). With its innovative sustainability strategy, professional services organization Deloitte was a natural fit to complement the other members in the ECB Network.

Pittsburgh, PA, November 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Professional services organization Deloitte is the latest member of Bayer MaterialScience LLC’s EcoCommercial Building (ECB) Network in North America.

With its innovative sustainability strategy, Deloitte was a natural fit to complement the other members in the ECB Network, according to Paul Platte, head, EcoCommercial Building Program, North America (NA), Bayer MaterialScience LLC.

“Deloitte brings to the network its commitment to sustainability and diverse quality services, such as energy and resources management and sustainability measurement, reporting, and consulting,” says Platte. “With the addition of Deloitte, our network’s combined capabilities present our clients with a powerful portfolio of solutions to address the challenges and opportunities associated with balancing societal contributions to sustainable growth with excellent economic performance.”

Deloitte’s values align with the integrated, sustainable building design that the ECB Network promotes. According to Chris Park, principal and sustainability and climate change leader, Deloitte Consulting LLP, Deloitte is looking forward to enhancing its offerings while collaborating with other ECB member companies.

“Deloitte hopes to strengthen its relationship with Bayer MaterialScience and its network members, create new connections with other organizations that share the same goals and focus on sustainability, and enhance shareholder value,” says Park. He continues, “We look forward to the opportunity to be at the forefront of sustainable building design by harnessing the combined capabilities of member organizations.”

Bayer MaterialScience LLC’s ECB NA program, launched April 26, 2010, advocates an integrated, collaborative approach to sustainable building design and construction. Network member organizations provide products aligned with seven building solution areas (Building Envelope/Insulation; Daylighting; Illumination; Indoor Environmental Quality; Sustainable Energy; Intelligent Building; and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) that help to increase sustainability and reduce energy costs. The network’s members function independently to provide services for sustainable building projects, which may or may not involve Bayer MaterialScience products.

Members of the ECB Network include industrial adhesives and sealants manufacturer, Bostik; professional services firm, Deloitte LLP; electrical solutions leader, Eaton Corporation; window manufacturer, Graham Architectural Products; architectural design firm, IDC Architects; and thermal-insulated panel manufacturer, Kingspan. Alliance organizations of the ECB Network include the Center for Building Performance and Diagnostics of Carnegie Mellon University; Bayer Technology Services; polyurethanes provider, BaySystems™; and Sheffield Plastics.
