Howard Alan Events, producer of the country’s top juried festivals, returns to Coconut Point with its second fine arts show of the year. The crowd-pleasing winter event takes place each February; the fall show will celebrate its second anniversary November 20 – 21, once again transforming this popular retail and dining destination into an outdoor art gallery. The artistic media represented include paintings, life size sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics, with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 sculptures. Admission is free and open to the public.
“The inaugural show was a success last year and we are thrilled to be returning with yet another quality event. Like our popular festival in February, this is a top notch show featuring new and emerging talent as well as established artists,” says Howard Alan, festival promoter. “This is a fabulous opportunity for festival goers to discover quality original works of art by the country’s leading artists.”
This year Keep Lee County Beautiful, a civic organization dedicated to protecting the environment and improving the quality of life in Lee County, will be exhibiting winning works of their Leave the Scene Clean Calendar Art Contest. The winners, students of Lee County public schools in grades 1 - 12, will be featured in the 2011 calendar which will be sold during the art festival. The schools are also using the calendar as a fundraiser to offset budget deficits that threaten their art programs and environmental projects. In addition, volunteers will provide live demonstrations of Lee County’s award winning recycling program and provide information and tips on how to Keep Lee County Beautiful.
The Coconut Point Fall Art Fair brings together the nation’s most talented artists who will collectively display over $15 million in artwork. The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity, will be present for the duration of the festival. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America.
