Wisconsin Lutheran College is Now Accredited to Offer Master’s and Online Degrees
WLC has has been formally accredited as a master’s degree granting institution. The college is now also accredited to offer both its master’s program and its bachelor’s degree completion program online.
Milwaukee, WI, November 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Wisconsin Lutheran College received official notification from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools that it has been formally accredited as a master’s degree granting institution. The college also was accredited to offer both its master’s program and its bachelor’s degree completion program online, according to Jim Brandt, vice president of Wisconsin Lutheran’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies.
“We’re focused on delivering distinctive pathways of personal and professional development for Christian education and business leaders,” said Brandt. The first graduate program to be offered will be a master of education featuring five specialization strands: leadership & innovation, urban education, high performance instruction, instructional technology, and science instruction. Classes will begin in January 2011.
“Our master of education degree develops teachers and education leaders who measure their own success in terms of increased academic achievement for diverse learners,” said Dr. Joyce Natzke, dean of the College of Adult and Graduate Studies.
The business degree completion program, LEAD (Leadership Enhancing Accelerated Degree), began in March 2010, and is designed primarily for working adults who want to complete their bachelor’s degree in a convenient, accelerated format.
“In 1987, when WLC received accreditation to begin operating as a four-year baccalaureate degree granting college, it was a significant milestone in the history of this college,” said President Daniel Johnson. “We celebrate another benchmark moment as we now serve students seeking their master’s degree in education and offer online programming.”
The online degree programs are offered in partnership with The Learning House, Inc., a total online education solutions company that builds comprehensive online campuses for colleges and universities.
