San Diego Marketing Group is Bowling for Charity with an Operation Smile Bowl-A-Thon
San Diego, CA, November 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- San Diego Marketing Group is hosting a charity Bowl-A-Thon at the Kearny Mesa Bowl, on Sunday, Nov. 14 to help raise money for Operation Smile: Adopt a Smile.
San Diego Marketing Group started working with Operation Smile after hearing about a friend’s experience working directly at an Operation Smile mission site in South America. The company plans to take part in helping fund an entire mission with plans to raise over $2000 by 2011.
Operation Smile provides free surgeries for children to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities that hinder a child’s ability to eat, speak and even smile. In some areas, these children are even shunned by their communities and tormented in school. The reconstructive surgery Operation Smile provides only costs about $240 per child and takes less than an hour.
Hosting a Bowl-A-Thon will help San Diego Marketing Group raise the rest of the money needed to reach their goal. It is also a fun way to take part in some healthy competition.
“I look forward to reaching our $2000 goal for Operation Smile…all the while enjoying some teambuilding with the company, and their friends and family,” said Rich Dinella, President of San Diego Marketing Group.
The Bowl-A-Thon will be played in teams over a 2 hour period of time. The team with the most pins knocked at the end of the 2 hour tournament will be rewarded $100. One hundred percent of the remaining profit will go directly to Operation Smile.
In September, San Diego Marketing Group hosted their charity Wiffle Ball Tournament at Kate Sessions Park and was able to raise roughly $250. San Diego Marketing Group has also participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life raising over $1000 for the American Cancer Association, and participated in several events for the Alzheimer's Association, Habitat for Humanity, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Autism Speaks, The Therapeutic Association of San Diego, and more. The company will continue with their efforts and contributions to the community.
