The Christmas Wine Cellars
The very first "Caveaux de Noël" (“Christmas Wine Cellars”), a programme of events put on by the Béziers Mediterranean Tourist Office: 65 activities from 25 November 2010 to 2 January 2011
Béziers, France, November 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The very first "Caveaux de Noël" (“Christmas Wine Cellars”), a programme of events put on by the Béziers Mediterranean Tourist Office.
65 activities from 25 November 2010 to 2 January 2011.
The "Christmas Wine Cellars" events allow visitors to celebrate the run up to Christmas in an altogether different way, offering the chance to discover or rediscover places, activities, tastes, flavours, traditions, words and stories.
And for the first time, wine cellars and estates in the Béziers area are getting together to open their doors, to welcome people during the long autumn and winter evenings that lie ahead, for events on a festive and symbolic theme: Christmas & New Year, as they are celebrated in the Occitan region of France.
And of course, because wine growing is one of the mainstays of the region’s life, economy and know-how, wine growers will try to outdo one another in ingenuity, generosity and ideas for combining wine tasting with a range of other pleasures... For example, you can learn how to savour a wine, while at the same time finding out about the mysteries of the world of truffles; learn to prepare foie gras or nougat ice cream as a treat for your future dinner guests, while at the same time learning which wine to have with which dish; help school children prepare for their holidays by buying bottles of wine with labels they have designed themselves... In the "Christmas Wine Cellars" programme, there's a wide range of events like this, that the wine growers have come up with for everyone to enjoy.
All this means that this very first “Christmas Wine Cellars” programme put on by the Béziers Mediterranean Tourist Office makes you want to delve further into one of the key aspects of Languedoc identity: wine.

All the activities in the “Christmas Wine Cellars” have been grouped together under 6 main themes:

Make your choice, then look at the detailed programme, either on the Internet (http://christmasfrance.wordpress.com), or by picking it up from one of around 380 distribution points provided: in town halls in the area, from those taking part, in hotels, bed and breakfast accommodation, in Béziers Mediterranean shops and shopping centres, in bakers’ shops, in the area’s Tourist Offices (in Languedoc-Roussillon and beyond)...
Finally, all the programme’s titles and sub-titles are translated into Occitan. This is the first stage in the Community Tourist Office’s new editorial approach: as from 2011, this affirmation of the area’s Occitan identity, beginning with its language, will be the norm in all tourist brochures.
