David Maus Toyota proudly supports Birdies for the Brave at Alaqua Lakes Country Club on Sunday to raise money for Homes for our Troops and Special Operations Warrior Foundation to benefit the US Military Veterans.
Orlando, FL, November 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- David Maus Toyota was proud to be the Title Sponsor the Birdies for the Brave Golf Tournament at Alaqua Lakes Country Club on Sunday to raise money for Homes for our Troops and Special Operations Warrior Foundation to benefit the US Military Veterans.
Birdies for the Brave fundraising events benefit select military home-front groups that are part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s America Supports You initiative: Homes For Our Troops and Special Operations Warrior Foundation supported by Phil Mickelson. The event at Alaqua Lakes Country Club included more than 18 foursomes each with a Military Veteran.
“It was such an honor to be among the Heroes of our country from the Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy. This was an amazing event to be a part of,” said David Maus, General Manager of David Maus Toyota.
David Maus Toyota has donated over $50,000 in 2010 to various charitable organizations throughout Central Florida. One of the most known programs is the Service Contribution Program that selects a different charity each month to donate a percentage of the monthly income. In the past year, David Maus Toyota has donated to Hope for the Warriors, American Lung Association, Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation, Breathe Easy Foundation, Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Seminole County Police Department, and Bags of Hope.
Since the inception, Birdies for the Brave has grown to include a variety of military outreach efforts, including Patriots' Outpost military hospitality chalets and military celebrations held during PGA TOUR tournaments; letter-writing campaigns for the troops; the distribution of care packages to troops stationed abroad; and a series of fundraising events conducted at the TOUR’s TPC Network of clubs nationwide – enabling fans, club members, sponsors and the general public the opportunity to participate in charity golf tournaments and other activities that directly benefit military men and women and their families, while at the same time play the same sensational golf courses where the world’s best golfers compete.
