Nexus Distribution Appoints New Human Resources Director
Nexus Distribution, a leading North American 3PL (Third Party Logistics) Provider, announces the hiring of new Human Resources Director.
Itasca, IL, September 01, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Nexus Distribution announced today that it has appointed human resources and logistics professional Loretta Spiak, PHR to serve as Human Resources Director.
Spiak, the previous Corporate Human Resources Manager for Power Packaging Inc., (an Exel Company) has experience launching start-up distribution programs for companies such as Kraft and Wal-Mart recruiting as many as 175 employees in less than six months.
“Loretta is not only a Human Resources guru, she’s also well-versed in logistics,” remarked Brian King, CFO and Vice President of Nexus Distribution. “She knows exactly what kind of talent we need to recruit and how to ramp up personnel and safety practices for new customer projects. Her background is going to be invaluable as we continue to expand our value-added service offering with special handling projects.”
Spiak was attracted to Nexus because of its culture and team approach to logistics. “I was excited to bring my HR expertise to Nexus and to learn a new customer base in the industry,” Spiak said. Some upcoming projects include the development of an internship program to acquire new talent coming out of universities that emphasize logistics. “I also want to establish a viable driver retention program to enable Nexus grow our transportation offering with our customers on a long-term basis,” Spiak reported.
Spiak’s background includes 10 years in the warehousing and distribution field, with an emphasis on packaging and value-added services. She comes to Nexus with over 14 years of progressive human resources experience in recruitment, labor relations in union and non-union environments, benefits administration, safety training and employee enrichment.
