BusinesSuites Executive Appointed President-Elect of Industry Trade Association
Austin, TX, November 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- At its 23rd annual conference in Coral Gables, Florida, the Office Business Center Association International (OBCAI) announced the appointment of John G. Jordan as president-elect. Jordan will lead the organization as president in 2011-2012. Jordan is president of BusinesSuites, LP, the Austin, Texas-based operator of office business centers with locations in four states.
OBCAI is an international trade association representing office business center operators and owners across 35 countries. Members include business center owners, staff, and vendors who service business centers. The association shares information, education, and vendor resources and advocates for the industry as a whole. The annual conference offers industry participants extensive education and networking opportunities. Throughout the year, OBCAI also hosts several smaller local member network meetings in various cities as well as online education webinars and is currently working on member enhancements such as certification programs and online directories.
Together, the 600 centers of OBCAI make up 8,200,000 square feet of office space, 30,680 rentable offices and 1,450 conference rooms generating revenues of $560 million a year and growing. The association is governed by a group of board members who are elected by its members. The focus of the group is client services and business success.
“OBCAI is already in a better position because of John. He was a great asset as treasurer and was very instrumental in creating the solid foundation we have now. He’s a strong financial and business manager. He knows how to bring more value to our membership and has proven his ability to deliver results. I’m confident that John’s vision and leadership will take OBCAI in the direction that it needs to go, and will lead our industry forward,” says Carrie Gates, a past-president of OBCAI.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to lead OBCAI and honored at my selection as president-elect. Our industry has many opportunities for growth over the next decade and the OBCAI should be a leader in advocating for our industry and members as we continue to prove our value to clients, prospects, and landlords,” says Jordan.
