Candy Caper Quashed by Sonitrol Pacific Security Audio

Everett, WA, November 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Two kids suspected of breaking into a Puget Sound area school to take candy were caught by police after Sonitrol Pacific’s audio security detected the threat November 13.

Operator Minta Christopherson received an impact-activated audio alert from a portable classroom at the school just after 1:30 a.m. She heard a “faint clatter and movement” and called Everett Police.

Christopherson continued to monitor activity at the school through live audio while officers were en route and heard glass breaking and more sounds of someone moving around.

Police located two underage boys and took them into custody. According to officers, the boys broke into the portable classroom and took three bags of candy and an old headphones set, then they broke a library window. Police caught up with the boys before they went inside the library.

Police placed the two suspects under arrest and later released them to their parents.
