BBC Children in Need to Boost Donations with Postcode Anywhere
Charity will use address auto-fill software to process more payments, faster
Hallow, Worcester, United Kingdom, November 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- BBC Children in Need will give their website a boost this week thanks to rapid address look-up software from Postcode Anywhere.
The software, which is to be supplied free of charge, speeds up the time taken to process donations by allowing donors to auto-complete an entire postal address from just the postcode. This cuts data entry time by at least 50% and should allow the charity to take a considerably higher volume of transactions on the night.
Beth Courtier, Community Investment Programme Manager for BT, who are working on behalf of BBC Children in Need, said: “This application will make a significant difference to the number of transactions we can process – we think it could save half the transaction time. And as we know from all our years working on these appeals, what is critical is getting donations processed. Ultimately, every transaction means more money for the charity.”
Postcode Anywhere’s managing director Guy Mucklow said: “Anything which saves money, makes processes more efficient and helps organisations get more for less is going to be very valuable for any organisation.
“Rapid addressing tools which meet this need have been around for a long time, but Postcode Anywhere was the first to use internet technologies to lower the cost of the underlying data, whether the software is used in a desktop application, call centre, or on a website.
“It’s perhaps because of this that Postcode Anywhere has always enjoyed a close relationship with charities, where you simply don’t have the luxury of inefficiencies - and every pound counts.
“In today’s economy, where every budget is stretched, efficiency is even more critical for the third sector. We’re delighted to be working with BBC Children in Need to help them achieve this goal, which should help them collect a considerably higher volume of donations.
“We are also able to offer the service entirely free of charge, which should be an even greater boost for this fantastic cause.”
