Green Home Decor and Material Sought for REOSE Building Project That Takes "Green" to the Extreme
New Orleans, LA, November 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- To achieve the goal of creating a nearly 100-percent “green” show home, REOSE LLC, the sustainable building venture of green product manufacturer, Oceansafe, and sustainable design consultants, The ReGen Group, seek partners interested in showcasing their sustainable, energy-efficient materials, equipment and home-decor products. Innovative sponsors are invited to donate, loan or consign green material and equipment for the interior and exterior of the dwelling. Collaborators are sought for home décor, furniture, cabinets, appliances, flooring, HVAC, lighting, decking and interior framing, windows, and doors.
A REOSE sustainable building kit serves as the base for the temporary model home to be sited at 401 North Carollton Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. Pending a permit for a temporary structure, construction will begin in December 2010.
This model of ingenuity is scheduled for completion in late 2010. It will be on view to the public beginning with an opening celebration early in January 2011, and be toured by developers, governmental entities and foreign companies as an example of easy-to-build sustainable, efficient, and durable home building. The structure will be moved to a permanent location following the showcase.
The project’s architect Judith Kinnard and designer Tiffany Lin were chosen from among eight strong New Orleans-based competitors in the REOSE Sustainable Building Design Competition. Using the material list provided to them (all of which could fit into one shipping container) competitors designed sustainable, energy-independent housing capable of withstanding severe environmental conditions. Kinnard and Lin’s project, “Sunshower SSIP House,” “stood out as a house that was both attractive in appearance, but also smart and functional in terms of energy efficiency and ability to weather the toughest storms and conditions,” said Joseph Basilice, President of Oceansafe.
Companies interested in participating in providing green building materials, energy efficient equipment and green home décor items should contact Cheria Scaffidi by e-mail at cheria@oceansafesteelsip.com or by telephone at (504) 523-4900.
