Systems Services of America Wins Arby’s Red Hat Supplier Achievement Award
SSA awarded top performing distribution center honor from national fast food restaurant Arby's.
Scottsdale, AZ, November 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Systems Services of America (SSA) has chalked up a significant win with Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc., in a textbook example of taking care of the customer. SSA was honored by Arby’s and ARCOP, Inc. Arby’s supply chain cooperative, as its top performing distribution center with a Red Hat Supplier Achievement Awards. The award was presented during Arby’s Worldwide Franchise Convention held in Phoenix October 3-6, 2010.
The Red Hat Supplier Achievement Awards recognize Arby’s suppliers who have provided superior levels of service and support to the Arby’s® restaurant system.
“Winning this award was no easy task,” said David Cox, President, ARCOP. “Each year, our distribution centers are rated across several key performance areas. A laser focus on customer service, as well as innovative technology solutions, pushed SSA to the top of the list.”
In addition, SSA's Portland division received top accolades for the "survey results category" as well as the best score in the "on time delivery performance" category. SSA is ranked against 16 other Arby's distribution centers across the country and is measured in 9 different components of supplier performance. SSA Portland services 150 Arby's units in the Pacific Northwest and has enjoyed the business since 1996.
According to SSA’s Bob Howard, the company’s success stems from its singular focus on the customer. “Our associates worked to create a partnership with ARCOP’s Wendy Kleefeld and Matt Cosson to focus on providing superior on-time performance to our Arby’s customers,” he said. “Our passion was to show our customers we cared about them.”
Starting over a year ago SSA made management changes at SSA Corporate and SSA Portland to develop a new team effort with the intent to provide the highest levels of service for this customer. Howard, General Manager of Portland; and Angela Rehbein, National Accounts Manager implemented a comprehensive improvement plan in mid-2008.
The entire SSA team worked diligently to overcome a number of existing challenges and gradually began to make headway. Improvements in internal communications with the customer and external communications with the franchisees regained trust and improved service.
Howard and his new senior management team focused relentlessly on improvement and never took their eye off the ball once the improvement plan was put into place. Rehbein along with other team members from the Corporate Purchasing, Accounts Receivable, and Cost and Pricing Departments increased their efforts and their attention to detail to ultimately push SSA to the resounding victory that was awarded by Arby's.
