Gates Corporation & the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence Name Adam Ketterl Technician of the Year
Ketterl Achieves Highest Honors in the Master Automobile & L1 Technician Category.
Denver, CO, November 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Gates Corporation, a leading manufacturer of industrial and automotive products, announced in collaboration with the National Institute for Automotive Service (ASE) that Adam Ketterl of Atwood, Kansas is the Gates/ASE Master Automobile & L1 Technician of the Year for 2010.
ASE, a non-profit organization established to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of repair and service professionals, partners annually with Original Equipment Manufacturers and Aftermarket industry sponsors, including Gates, to recognize outstanding technicians. Award winners in Auto, Truck and Collision categories are selected based on their ASE certification test scores, on-the-job excellence and community service. Ketterl and other technicians were honored by ASE at a special ceremony held yesterday in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Ketterl, who has been ASE certified for the last six years, is the Shop Foreman/Head Technician at Dave’s Oil Service, Inc. in Atwood. He received his AAS degree in Automotive Technology from Northwest Kansas Technical College in 2003 and completed certification in Automotive Technology with specializations in Chassis Fabrication and High Performance Engines at WyoTech in 2004.
On receiving recognition from ASE, Ketterl noted, “It’s an honor. I’ve put in a lot of hard work, and it’s so nice to be recognized. It’s also great to have the Gates name behind me.”
In his spare time, Ketterl enjoys working on his family’s ’57 Chevy, golfing with his wife Angela and singing with the Tumbleweed Barbershop chorus.
