Chef Roy Yamaguchi to Host Prelude to The Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest
On December 8, Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Restaurant in The Promenade (Bonita Springs), will offer a Private Wine Dinner with Chef Roy Yamaguchi - founder of Roy's and Hawaii's first James Beard Award Winner. Throughout the evening, Chef Roy will be mingling with guests, discussing food and wine. The reception begins at 6:15p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00p.m.

The event begins with a reception at 6:15 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Wines from Napa Valley’s exclusive Justin Vineyards and Winery will be featured. Throughout the evening Chef Roy will mingle with guests, discussing food and wine.
Roy ‘s reflects the taste of its founder and chef. The food is exciting and innovative Hawaiian fusion cuisine of the highest quality. Chef Roy has been recognized by Gault-Milau, Conde Nast Traveler, Gourmet and Food and Wine Magazine. The food is known for being as decorative as it is delicious.

The Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest, sponsored by Northern Trust, is a two-day event that begins with vintner dinners in private homes throughout Southwest Florida and concludes with a Grand Tasting and Auction the following day. The Grand Tasting features gastronomic delights from more than a dozen of the region’s finest chefs along with signature wines from Napa Valley’s Staglin Family Vineyard. Over the last two years, the event has raised $1.75 million for Roy’s Private Dinner.
Southwest Florida Children’s Charities which supports The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida as the event’s primary beneficiary as well as Edison State College pediatric nursing program and Florida Gulf Coast University’s endowed scholarship fund for pre-medical students pursuing pediatrics.
In addition to Northern Trust, the Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest is sponsored by Miromar Lakes, Lee Memorial Health System, Saks Fifth Avenue, Grandeur Magazine and the News Press Media Group, Gulfshore Life Magazine, and Gulfshore Business Magazine as well as several private donors.
The Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest Grand Tasting will be hosted at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club on the afternoon of February 26, 2011. Tickets for the Chef Vintner Dinners are limited.
